Sold, for 28,000! Remember that Virgin Mary in the Grilled Cheese? Well, an online casino bought the famed sandwich on e-bay for $28,000 and now you too, can put a face on a grilled cheese sandwich. Blessed Virgin Elmo, perhaps?

Golden Palace has an annoying reputation for pulling publicity stunts... Mostly at someone else's expense (as with the streakers that show up periodically at sports events).

I would hate to validate this obnoxious behavior by giving them any extra attention... Ugh.

Doesn't someone have a new website with animated images of dancing monkeys or something? What happened to the web I knew and loved?

Their tutorial replaces the Virgin Mary's face with Osama Bin Laden's. Whee!

Last week they also bought the ghost of man on eBay (along with his walking cane), so that he would stop haunting his son. I believe they paid $65k for it.

I wonder if the IRS has a couple people employed just to handle these windfalls.

Ah, chasing, you're absolutely right. Your comment reminded me how the guy who played Greg Brady had "Golden Palace.com" written on his back when he did that Celebrity Boxing match on FOX.

Now wait just a minute, this is, this is cutting edge internets technology. Holy crap, I put a picture of a fence on a cheese sandwich, that is freaking insane. No way.

Did they but the sandwich for the express right to do this? I think they got ripped off.

Oh bah. Streakers are funny. Where the hell were you in college? Gulag?

No, streaking is funny, streaking for profit is lame.

Streaking's cool when it's done to monkey with the squares, not when it's used to advertise some online casino.

SARC on Golden Palace Adware

If you don't have AdAware, get it now. Online casino enthusiasts, please take your business elsewhere.

Let's not forget that Golden Palace still plans to become the first online casino in space, X-Prize or no.

They sure have money to throw around and a disturbingly keen sense of how to get the whole intarweb clicking through to them...

A few days ago I was thinking about how you could manufacture any arbitrary picture on a grilled cheese sandwich. I have too much time on my hand, heh.

Any way, I figured it could be done with an embosed negative of the image you want to burn. The image would probably have to be two tone, I don't think gradients would work... Just set the grilled cheese on your embosed image, air will not flow to the parts that are in direct contact with the metal. The rest will golden nicely. I should try it sometime, make a killing on ebay when I 'discover' George W. Bush burned into my grilled cheese...

Dear Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese,
I never really found you all that amusing. It's me, you see, it's not you, others thought you were hilarious. I think your 15 minutes are about up, but don't worry, I'm sure you'll be back in some Trivial Pursuit "Wacky interweb" edition someday.
See you around,
monkey!

Why would one buy a Virgin Mary Cheese Sammich when they could get a Great Old One made of chocolate?

Seriously, did we need to waste any more time a grilled cheese sandwich? I don't think Fark had this many posts about it.

Well, I for one enjoyed placing an image of hello.jpg on a grilled cheese sandwich, so nyah!
