The Boeing 737, Nose to Tail
April 27, 2005 8:49 AM Subscribe
All things 737: aircraft systems, pilots' notes, deliveries and fleet movements, production methods, technical photographs, blended winglets, rudder news, illustrated history, accident reports, Q's and A's. Know it all? Take the quiz.
Thanks for this post. I think they forgot "makes the planes look kind of cool" under the benefits of the new winglets.

On a closer reading, I see that they state "Blended Winglets bring a modern look and feel to aircraft, and improve customers' perceptions of the reliability and modernity of the Airline" which I guess translates to "makes the planes look kinda cool." On a aviation related note, I see the A380 made it's first flight today.

Neat stuff for a gearhead like me. The design of the 737 seems to be a bit long in the tooth, though. I've taken a few flights on the Airbus equivalent lately, and IMO it's a better design.

Thanks, stevejensen. If you were joking, you ruined my lunch. If you were serious, you ruined my day.

Cool site. Do you own any of the rights to these photos? I have an agency and we are looking for photos of composite construction. Boeing sells them but I thought you might have taken some of the photos.

Well, Chuck, it's not my site, but if you check the contacts page, you might be able to email Mr. Brady and ask.

No, they didn't:
MODERN DRAMATIC APPEARANCE
Blended Winglets bring a modern look and feel to aircraft, and improve customers' perceptions of the reliability and modernity of the Airline.
