$14,999? It's a steal! And come on, there's only 2 left... (Yes, it's more election-era humor.)

I refuse to turn on cookies just to look at a site. "We've detected that you've disabled cookies. Our site uses 'cookies' to store user names, and other preferences so that users don't have to re-enter this information each time they use sputnik7. If you're concerned about your privacy, please see our privacy policy." Well, that's lovely, and I do appreciate their concern, but I don't want their helpful cookies. Furthermore, I don't have cookies "disabled," I have my browser set to check at each site. I'd be happy to go into their site and have my information languish unstored, but this is apparently not an acceptable option.

Gee whiz, foxtail, you're almost as bad as baylink and the "But I don't wannna register at the NY Times!!" attitude.

I realize that it doesn't matter at all if I let them put a cookie on my machine. The way they handle it, though, is just bad design. Why not go ahead and allow my dialogue box to pop up and ask me if I want to accept cookies for this site? I say "yes" (or hey, even "no") and there's no problem. The only way I could get into the site was to switch my preferences to always accept cookies. To me, that's a failing of the interface.

If you tell your browser to go ahead and accept the site's cookies when it asks, and it still doesn't work, your browser is broken.
