Ear Candy

If you wanted to spend $100 on a 512 mb capacity mp3 player with no screen, you could buy an iPod shuffle, or you could get a player in the form of a PEZ dispenser. Developed by a stay-at-home dad who documented the design process on a sadly defunct blog, the only drawback is that it doesn't dispense candy.
This would be cool if Apple did it.

Minty MP3, the Altoids MP3 player developed by an MIT student, was here first.

Good for him! His story is cool, and it looks to be a solidly built product. I'm always pleased to see people actually DO the things they dream of doing. Unfortunately, the form factor and durability of a pez dispenser are not what I'm looking for in a rugged, easy to slip in your pocket portable mp3 player.
I bet if this guy marketed these in vintage toy and collectible catalogs and newsgroups, they'd take off and sell like hotcakes.

VulcanMike, the guy describes how the altoids mp3 player was one of his inspirations. So i guess that means it's not a rip.

Or a real one, for that matter.
