Link Wray has left us. Link Wray, one of the greatest and most influential guitar players of all time, has died in Copenhagen at age 76.

Link actually died on November 5, but the news of his death, according to his family's wishes, was only made public today.

I was fortunate enough to see him play twice, and both times he nearly tore the buildings down with his immense sound.
If you don't know his music, do yourself a favor and pick up any- and everything released on Norton Records. Timelessly great music.

I haven't been this sad about the death of a famous person since George Harrison died.

And clicking that "link" button just makes me sadder.

What more do you want? I admitted my error, apologized, and instantly asked for the thread's deletion. Your rubbing my face in my mistake is about the least useful thing you can do, and runs counter much more strongly to any sort of "community standards" than does my cursing at your precious little self.
