Maniac Muslim: Making Muslims look cool since 1984. A humorous look at all things Muslims, by Muslims, and for Muslims (and you), such as Annoying Quirks Of Masjid Uncles, Your Guide to Islamic Conferences, and Muslim Chat Lingo. The impetus for the sight can be found here.
Oh shit. I meant "sight" as in "this website is quite a sight.

Actually a pretty great site and a good FPP. The writing is a bit Jeff K but the innocent enthusiasm of the webmaster is pretty infectious.

I had hoped it was gonna be a halal conversion of Matthew Smith's classic game.

From the open house day at the mosque:
When it was time to organize small groups of tours, chaos broke loose. It’s natural for the non-Muslim visitors to be inquisitive and ask questions. It’s NOT natural for the tour guides to treat it like some fanatical debate.
“Hi there…my name is Susan. I was just curious as to why women pray in the back?”
“WHAT? DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD PRAY SIDE BY SIDE LIKE SOME SUPERMARKET?”
“No it’s just that-”
“PROVE TO ME THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD. PROVE IT NOW. NOWHERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT SAY THE TRINITY EXISTS.”
“Actually I’m Jewish and-”
“ISRAELI THIEVES. FREE PALESTINE”
“I’m actually against the occupa-”
“THIS TOUR IS OVER”
Great site. Really funny and I think I even *gasp* learned something.
:D

Huh, "marriage" and "fuck" must come from the same root in Arabic, since "fuck" is "niqeh" (or so I was told when learning Arabic). You learn something new every day!

Don't miss the Hogwarts Muslim Students Association!
Note: Astaghfirullah (or ASTAGIFRULLAH as seen at Hogwarts; literally "I ask Allah for ghafr 'pardon, forgiveness'") is often used to ward off a compliment or, as by Abdul Wahab here, to separate oneself from another's bad behavior.

I know Hamzah personally. Funny guy.
Maniac Muslim grew out of a number of sources..
The foremost sources of inspiration were the estimable Maddox (which is seen in some of his "harsher" work in his previous site, the brown times) and the onion. Also of influence was Islamica News, who pioneered the witty muslim t-shirt. Also, of course, Azhar Usman. Allah (swt) made him funny indeed.

As an aside, my favourite is indeed the online nikkah. I'm sure I know who that imam is too ;)

Very sympathetic.
But why has his face been blanked out
and does he refuse to mention his whereabouts on the about Hamzah page?
I surely hope that a bit of muslim fun does not lead to threats from angry muslim hardliners....

Ha! Reminds me of the LiveJournal community Islam Like Whoa, which was about Islam but treated like a fandom.
Their Prophet Of The Week series was pretty good and funny writing.
