Complete with celery!

Art Frahm gets an update. Ever wanted to see Art Frahm's vintage pinups modernized? With some of those outrageous "Goth Girls" as models? Your wait is over! Now you can see for yourself what happens when those girls in their fishnet stockings and those scandalous dresses have their knickers accidentally fall down to their ankles. (No nudity.)
Clearly celery is an unstoppable terror and the only logical solution is to ban underwear entirely.

It's just not the same without the guy leering and grinning at the unfortunate victim of elastic failure in the background, though.

No, as it turns out I really didn't want to see that.

i don't get it. I never did understand frahms' fascination with the falling underwear bit or the celery bit. Is it supposed to be sexy?

The Art Frahm paintings are funny enough to begin with, but the image of someone dropping thier baggy polka dotted passionkillers from under a skintight rubber fetish tog is absurdity squared. Thanks for the giggle!

Those girls suffer in comparison with the (idealized) originals. Would have been better as paintings than photos IMO.

Is it just me, or is that pseudo-goth-semi-fetish-post-Club Kid look absolutely the most completely shit fashion movement in all human history?

i love art frahm's work! the real question for the ages: What the hell is up with freaky tatt-and-peirce goth chicks with black lips and platform buckle boots? not sexy!

Eck. I like Art's better. The photo versions look entirely manufactured. I know that's part of the joke, but still the models could have at least looked a little bit shocked, instead of, "Oh, look my panties are down!"

jack_mo - yes it is.
A half dozen pieces of metal through your face and genitalia are not going to distract from the fact that you are fat and homely. As a matter of fact it only draws more attention to it.

This would be good if they were actually the original models - as they would look today. Like 85 years old with granny panties the size of North Face 4-man Dome tents.

MegoSteve: I was leering, if that helps.
Despite likin' the gothy gals, the first, straighter looking model pulls it off best (And resembles Neko Case, so like, a kajillion extra points to her); unintentional exhibitionism is what gives Frahm's stuff its zing.
When the subject is in on the joke ("Like, I was thinking that it could be rilly empowering, y'know?") it falls flat.

I like the one with Anne Marie. She is always great to work with. I've got some of my best shots with a photoshoot with her.

Why are their knickers over their stockings?
Panties always go over stockings.
I used to hate it when girls I would hook up with would be wearing spectacular stockings with a garter belt and their knickers trapped stupidly underneath the whole affair.
If you want to wear them home in one piece, panties go on last so they can come off first.

Damn straight.
By the way, this is not just for the convenience of my nearest and dearest, but for me. The first time a woman stands in a public restroom stall, bursting for a pee but unable to release her panties from the snarled prison of lace and clasps, she learns that panties go on the outside of the suspenders.
Always.
