It's hard out here for a pimp. (Photo gallery, flash, some images NSFW.)
You are damn fast, delmoi. I'll give you that.

Is this that Three 6 Mafia thing from the Oscars? I heard about them this morning, what did they do when they won their award?

I got that book for Xmas. I think part of the message is that the "pimp lifestyle" is one that really shouldn't be glamorized like it is. Pimps are basically despicable people who live in a world of violence and vanity, where human life is degraded as much as it can possibly be.

A Flash application for ten measley photos, barely any text and with a shitty, shitty interface? Ugh.

Mmm. I believe some social groups idolise rapists too.
Vermin. Not interested.

Corporations that was funny. I mean, LOL, way to stick it to the man.
Pimps are, of course, disgusting individuals by nature. While they are glorified in some ways, is it not more often in jest? They are truly glorified mostly by those who themselves are unduly glorified ("gangsta" types).
If there's one good thing I can say about pimps it is that they usually have really good taste in shoes, however their taste in coats is awful.

Indeed. Especially when he's trying to get this money for the rent. In fact, I understand that with the Cadillac and gas money spent, he's quite likely to have a whole lot of ladies jumping ship.
That said, every Halloween I derive much horror and amusement from watching the parade of drunken junior account managers in off-the-rack pimp costumes trying to hit on punk girls at loft parties throughout the greater metropolitan area.

Oh god, I just read the "science" section. That's the worst bullshit I've read in several months. And I read artist manifestos pretty regularly.
This post fails, especially because it borrowed a line from the excellent movie Hustle and Flow without engaging any of the issues that it addressed.

Shouldn't that be pimpgnosis? People who spell domain names incorrectly ought to have bad things done to them somewhere in the archipelago of secret American prisons.

The pimp lifestyle might benefit from a fashion periodical, perhaps, unless they want to be stuck in 1973 forever.

Thanks for the memory trip, Astro Zombie. Reminds me of the film "Willie B", which I saw as part of a captive (military) audience. I like the pimp fashion in that it has its elements of sharp as well as amusing, sometimes at once. But what can I say, dark skin deals so nice with colors and gold.

The pictures were decent, although I would have liked more of them, and I'm not quite sure what the point was from the site. The science section was inane.
