Most folks know that getting anywhere around, close to, drugs often causes problems. But that someone so aware of drugs and problems caused by them tells us what the statistics have been already telling us: the DARE program is not effective.

I just saw Traffic tonight. 'Twas a very good look at many different aspects of the drug industry. It doesn't seek to find an answer (since it's a difficult problem to approach), but it definitely looks into some of the issues that we may not have been aware of, and makes us realize that there are very different (but all relevant) angles to the problem.

In this first month of 2001, I think I've seen more good movies than all of 2000 (save for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon)
