The Daily Kitten No matter how jaded and cynical you are, it is well nigh impossible to visit this site and resist clicking thru at least a few weeks' worth of pictures.
"Little tiny truffle at four weeks old getting some mommy-love!"- I AM SORRY BUT I AM A RECOVERING CYNIC AND A LOVER OF ORIENTAL JADE!

Ignore the captions. Just gaze into the kittens' big, soulful eyes...

I prefer cuteoverload, I think. There's so much clicking to get at the kittens here. They need to be less stingy with the kittens!

I think this is the ultimate kitten picture. (My caption for it was "Turn out that damned light! There are people trying to sleep over here!")

On post-view, from Saucy's link:
Omg! Sheltie pup! not only that, but a black and white sheltie, like my dog! *reforms, then melts once again into a puddle of goo*

I prefer ThingsThatMakeYouGoAah. A little more variety and all that. Still, one can never have too many cute blogs.... unless they involve babies. Babies are just creepy.

Jeez, loq, all that creature needs to complete the picture are pointy glasses on a neckchain and a old purse overflowing with yarn and used Kleenex.

This is a terrible, axe-grinding, (self-admitted) newsfilter post with editorializing in both the text of the post and the tags.

While we're on the subject of pets, some of these are pretty funny. And so are these, but in a sick way.

dobbs: Jesus, the comments on that blog are scary.
You know, you haven't really stared into the abyss until you've spent some quality time on the forums at Cat of the Day.
Nothing says crazy quite like talking to cats on the internet.

Unless you hate cats.
And yeah, those comments are... probably good evidence that cats infect the brains of their owners with mind-controlling parasites.

I was able to avoid clicking through several weeks worth of kittens. Primarily because it was such a pain in the ass to get to them. However, I did add the RSS feed to my bloglines (as well as daily puppy, which I actually prefer).

WCityMike, wonderful word, neoteny, thanks.
fake and Mr. Gunn, fascinating link between parasites found in cats and schizophrenia. Looking up the parasite in question, Toxoplasma gondii, I found it's not found only in cats by any means. "While the parasite is found throughout the world, more than 60 million people in the United States may be infected with the Toxoplasma parasite. Of those who are infected, very few have symptoms because a healthy person's immune system usually keeps the parasite from causing illness."
loquacious, you are bad, just plain bad. If anyone needs to purify their mind after making the huge mistake of looking at loquacious' link (just don't go there) and wants some Cuteness Antidote, which is, I guess, a kind of Synaptic Febreeze, there is the aww-worthy story and video of Finnegan the Squirrel, no cats included unfortunately. There is a cat and rat friendship going on here though.
