John Powers, artist. Simple, uncluttered site showing his sculptures, drawings and installations. Some more info here.
I like it. Sort of like amalgamating replicons. I think it would be better live though. I want the 3rd D for full impact.

All art is better live! I've lost count of the number of artists I've liked/disliked online or in reproduction only to dislike/like their work when I saw their work in real life...
Even, I dunno, something ultra-conceptual like Lawrence Weiner's use of language in place of sculpture, or as sculpture - eg. his famous early piece ONE QUART GREEN EXTERIOR INDUSTRIAL ENAMEL THROWN ON A BRICK WALL, or my favourite WATER & SAND - which you'd think would work the same written on a scrap of paper, or in an email, or whatever, are completely different works when presented on the wall of a gallery by Weiner himself.

This stuff is so nice. But it makes me want to blow my brains out.

His work and style reminds me of Tom Friedman. And Friedman always sort of reminded me of the urban counterpart to Andy Goldsworthy

Anyway, I like the tension between the organic (ugh, you know what I mean) and the coldly geometric in this bloke's stuff. Always been a sucker for sideways takes on Modernism, though.
