Questions from the "dropping knowledge" post, where top global minds converge to answer posted questions:
“why is clean water more expensive than gasoline in many countries?” joshua dharma , 34, suratthani, Thailand
“Self serving global corporations are not held accountable in any real sense of the word for their actions, how can this be changed? ”
Good question....

"Via, ironically, This is Broken."
Why ironically? Maybe it's good that it's broken.

Should it not be, though, grammatically: "Ironically, via ThisisBroken?"

Today’s good news about Darfur comes from people wanting to help the region through action. Show your support online by wearing a blue hat!
I wore a blue hat today, and I didn't even realize I was helping Darfur! What is this all about, now?

On the internet, nobody knows you're wearing a blue hat.

uni verse, thanks for pointing out that post. I thought that the concept sounded fantastic, so I went to check it out. Here's a direct link.
I think that the idea really holds a lot of promise, but is unfortunately held back by the clunky and hard to navigate site. There really needs to be someplace where people can not only ask these questions, but actually receive answers on the small things we can do to alleviate some of these issues.
It's also slightly misleading, as the Things are Good post (which is broken at the moment, so can't double check it) makes it sound like users ask questions to people that are currently involved in the various fields, but it seems as if anyone who signs up can answer, which makes it more like a specifically focused AskMe.
...okay, after poking around the news portion of the site, it seems that they held an event in Berlin, in which they asked 112 people to answer 100 questions, and then opened it up to the people on the website. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any sort of transcript to the event... but since it was only held 2 days ago there may not be one yet. The site definitely needs some usability checks, which hopefully will happen as the content seems to be good.

aside from wearing a blue hat, I am happy to see this site . Snarking is a lot easier than trying to make things better, to state the obvious.
