Make like a knight and generate your own simple heraldic shield. The venerable Pimbley's Dictionary of Heraldry can define the archaic blazoning terms that the Generator uses. If you'd prefer a more modern, more casual emblem, try the Official Seal Generator.
Nice post, though the heraldic shield generator appears to be busted in Firefox (1.5.0.7) for me. (works in IE)

Busted in Firefox for me too, but it works in Safari. Strangely fun, too.

Cool, I've always wanted something with "ita erat quando hic adveni" on it.

Some of the charges are broken when you try to add three of them. There's also a sadly limited number of charges available... but this is definitely fun to play with :)

I love the Official Seal Generator. I've had a lot of fun with it. Some fun at other people's expense. And friends of mine have used it for subtle statements.

Oo, if you want an offline generator (with more options for charges, ordinaries, etc), go here, and download Blazon.

"These vaults," he said, "are extensive."
"The Montresors," I replied, "were a great and numerous family."
"I forget your arms."
"A huge human foot d'or, in a field azure ; the foot crushes a serpent rampant whose fangs are imbedded in the heel."
"And the motto ?"
"Nemo me impune lacessit."
"Good !" he said.
The wine sparkled in his eyes and the bells jingled.

Fun to play with, but I wish the selections would preview as it's difficult to try, and then remember, all of the possibilities for the heraldic novice.

Try Blazon, dreamsign. No undo function, which is annoying, but much better.
