With malice towards all, Khushwant Singh has been one of the most ascerbic tongues in the English language, particularly in his editorship of the venerable yet now deceased Illustrated Weekly of India. Filled with Goan cartoonist Mario Miranda's stunning illustrations, short stories, photojournalism, scholarly articles and humor, I miss the touch of Indian society it kept for desis abroad.
Thanks infini, that was interesting. I occasionally peruse Sepia Mutiny for bursts of Indian/desi cultural tidbits.

I wish the illustrations were bigger - they look quite cool.

From the TribuneIndia link..
"In an engineering college workshop, the instructor saw a trainee wearing loose garments which could get caught in a machine. He admonished her: "You must not wear loose garments while working with machines. Wear tight-fitting clothes."Heh.
The girl replied, "Sir, if I wear tight-fitting clothes, it might imperil the life of the boy working on the adjoining machine."
I wish the illustrations were bigger - they look quite cool.
