A great trove of images. I hadn't expected such familiar looking green and deciduous landscapes.

Oh man, these pictures are making me feel really nostalgic and homesick. The photos of Shomal (the North) in particular, took me back to our annual road trips from Tehran to our villa on the Caspian every summer. It's been 29 years since my last trip to the Caspian shore, and I don't see myself being able to go back unless there's a regime change, which seems like a more and more unattainable dream as the years go by.
But thanks for the beautiful photos, BiaB. I enjoyed them very much, contrary to what the above maudlin paragraph may indicate.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful images with us. For those who are fond with ancient art, your gallery is a must. Congratulations.
I've been in Greece on year ago and today I find the other side. Great.

Tehran 24 is an excellent site for images of Tehran and Iranian city life in general. If you're looking for a site that presents Iranians in a way that makes you think "hey, they're not all that different than us", Tehran 24 is it.

Fantastic post, BuddhaInABucket.
Iran is such an incredibly beatiful country. What I wouldn't give to be puffing on apple tobacco from a hookah & sipping chay in the teashops under this bridge in Esfahan right now.
I was surprised that there were no shots of Yazd, until the very last. This was almost exactly the view from my $5 room in that town...*sighs*
