Wholphin: DVD Magazine of rare and unseen videos Delightful and unexpected collections of videos.
There's a lot here. Let me show you a few of the videos that caught my eye:
The Country, a short animated film based on a whimsical poem by former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins.
The Strongest Man
Drink all Day
The Crying Game (AKA The Competition, Take 1) (with surprise ending)
::SPOILER ALERT::
The Crying Game was fantastic, but now I really want to know what the girl was thinking about.

I thought "The Strongest Man Drink all Day The Crying Game (AKA The Competition, Take 1)" was one movie, and I was excited.
I want to challenge that girl to a contest. I will be practicing. 25 seconds is darn impressive, but I can cry pretty quickly. I also think she likely prepared better than the guys.
You need to go in with a game plan: think about your grandma on her deathbed, wishing that you could make it there in time to say good-bye but you're stuck in traffic because you decided to buy some drugs on the way to the hospital...

She was probably thinking about how Jesus died for her sins.

Tears are just rationality escaping the body.

Watching Emily cry on demand is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in awhile.

Fans of Wholphin will also want to check out Lumen Eclipse, an experimental film program out of Cambridge, Mass. The folks who run Lumen have collaborated with Wholphin, and a few of the shorts here (most notably the Billy Collins shorts) are streaming on their website.

The original crying game movie was better I thought, just because it didn't explain what was going on. And I think it was directed by the Encylcopedia Pictura guys, and those guys are awesome.

I got the first wolphin as part of my subscription to The Believer. It had a guy singing the entire stairway to heaven backwards or something.

I have no idea what happened to the formatting. It looked ok on preview. I blame jessamyn cortex.

I really want to know what the girl was thinking about.
According to the theory of involuntary lateral eye movement, whatever Emily was thinking to make herself cry was probably something she was fabricating, not something she was remembering.

One of my Mcsweeneys volumes came with the first Wholphin and I've been buying them obsessively ever since. There's a lot of great content on each DVD, and they had the entire Power of Nightmares series bundled in too. I'd recommend getting a subscription.
