Rollin' on the River

The Big River Show. So, you've decided spend your summer floating down the Mississippi River. You're going to need a 35-year-old pontoon boat, the proper attire, and something to snack on. Oh, and you might not want to go during a 500 year flood. posted by Horace Rumpole (14 comments total) 3 users marked this as a favorite

What an awesome idea for an adventure.

I think you traditionally also need an African-American Jim.

heh. 41 years on this planet and I hadn't yet really thought through or come across why H2O is a liquid and not a gas, even though the molecular weights of 2•H and O are a lot less than eg. N2.

I know it's probably fashionable not to like stuff like this, but I really like stuff like this. Good on these guys for doing it and blogging it, I say.

How can they not have money for gas, but have money for a wireless internet connection? Smells kinda fishy to me.

Still, if they want to make some money, I've got a fence that they can paint.

In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre did the same thing with its Circus of Water Circus back in 1983, with 25 adults, 5 kids, and 2 dogs. The company bought a boat that stopped running in St. Louis. Yet they still made it to New Orleans by Halloween weekend. It was quite the production.

These days gas cost is rising ... So if you donate to us we’ll get moving and check out the next great adventure in our path and make a film about it.

I'm with PeterMcDermott. First thing I'd do if I decided that I wanted to spend my summer unemployed, floating down a river, is figure out how to save enough frikken money to pay for it.

There is this British guy and his dad who are trying to sale down the river in a boat made of cartons. That's just poor decision making.
