You know those house flags?

You know those house flags? I recommend finding one with this graphic to send a message to your neighbors. Better yet, how about this one?
They don't have the machine properly domainized. You'll have to use www.symbols.com to get there...

Thank you for the occasion to opine that the "house flags" of suburbia are UNBEARABLY TACKY, UGLY, AND A BLITE ON THE NATION. They are homeowners screaming I AM A TACKY UNEDUCATED AMERICAN WITH TOO MUCH MONEY AND NO AESTHETIC SENSE WHATSOEVER.
Suburban People: stick to moronic manicured lawns, please!
AS for the flags linked: very funny!

Interesting... the symbols site uses no icons for navigation.
What's up with those flags? I've not spent much time in the US over the past three years. It was bad enough seeing all those lady-bent-over plywood-lawn-figure thingies--someone needs to rethink evolution.

Well, as long as your neighbors are French hobos, those symbols will mean something, but otherwise those squiggles are just going to confuse people.
Ever since we bought our house three and a half years ago, we've been dreading the day my mother gives us a flagpole and a decorative flag as a Christmas gift.
She has one on her house, and was all excited about the pretty rainbow flag she found until my brother explained what it was...

Just Say No To House Flags! Briank, tell your mom there's an ordinance against them. Or, if your neighbor has one, tell her your property was sold with a covenant barring such; tell her ParisParamus sold it to you.

I live in Seattle too (don't you, Saxman?) and I don't think house flags have made it out here (yet?).

Houseflags are truly riduculous, I've seen many while visiting the North Eastern US, but none on the West Coast (granted it's been a few years)...
What's more ridiculous though, is the way people hang up US flags in much the same way.

Yeah; this site is *too* cool; mad props, and like that.
(PS: what the hell does "map props" *mean*?)
