Serious question? I thought it was pretty obvious: to establish a premise for why the four ghosts from the game are there in the "room" in the center and a motive for going after the Bat—er, Pac-Man.
Clever and cute. I wish I had made more movies like that back when I was in high school. Ease up on the haterade, dbiedny.

This didn't really make sense. On any level. Even with video game logic.

What was that music at the end? I remember hearing something like that before... was it Aphex Twin?

The ghosts in the actual game always seemed pretty sure about their ability to kill Pac Man and didn't have the level of fear that was depicted in this short film.

Props for the homage to the best scene from Deep Blue Sea.
(In the theater, everyone gasped, then after a couple seconds of silence broke into laughter when we realized how expertly we had all been played.)

The best possible Pac-Man movie treatment is without question The Madness of Mission 6. Really, it must be seen and savored.

After they were "eaten", there should have been a shot of their eyeballs rolling down the hall.

There are five ghosts because it is a film, and in film you are allowed to change anything you want at any time regardless of tiresome things like facts or history. No-one notices or cares, at least, no-one who matters.

It's nicely shot, funny, a little too long, but yeah, good work. Glad to see students are goofing off creatively.

I may be mistaken, but I don't think Sue showed up until Ms. Pac-Man.

The four Pac-Man ghosts are Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde. The video starts by talking about their dead friend "Dinky", a ghost that only appears in the minor Pac-Man apocrypha Chomp-Out at the O.K. Corral. Therefore, this video is EPIC PAC-CANON FAIL.
Sue makes her appearance in Ms. Pac Man; she replaces Clyde.

They turned blue and back several times in the video, but there was only one power pill eaten. Could be different levels. But in the last shot, the last ghost turns blue and back several times while they are headed for the collision, which isn't possible.

DU, I think he blinks blue and orange because the effects of the power pill are wearing off.
