The Tekken Torture Tournament

The Tekken Torture Tournament wires competitors into a "modified Tekken III Playstation console which converts virtual damage into a bracing, but non-lethal electric shock." (If you live in the Los Angeles area and have a high tolerance for pain, there's still time to register.)
Looking at that website for 60 seconds was torture enough.

Electric shock? I'm assuming, given the California power crunch, they're using a legion of interns in house slippers shuffling their feet on shag carpeting to generate this?

Of course the website's painful. It separates the men from the boys! If you can't handle some looping animated GIFs, are you really ready for the PSG-MAX?

How long until some politician comes along and tries to ban this?

A *real* visionary politician would be saying "I think this system should be mandatory on all new video game equipment sold in the US. Teach those kids that violence hurts!" (Plus, it would make Sony's 'Dual Shock' controller truer to its name.)

I'm glad they specify that it's a non-lethal shock; for a moment I thought the game area would be filled with people reduced to ash.

time for all those kids who think they're so tough because they're good at a game can now put their money where their mouth is.
