SchmApple SLAS (Single Link Apple Spoof).
I want a Mysteron. "Does nothing. But looks great."
I want a Mysteron. "Does nothing. But looks great."
Needs more funny. (sorry, hate to be *that guy*... but obviously I don't hate it enough to not do it.)

SchmApple iPhone: It's a movie player. An iPod. A portable games machine. A hard-drive. A camera. Oh wait - did we miss something out?
Yes. You missed something out.

Even agreeing with most of this page I didn't really smile much. Gathering a bunch of stereotypes onto a single page doesn't really qualify as either "original" or "humor".

Du, it's not a single page. You need to click into some of the products, add something to a cart, etc.

Meh. Needs more funny.

The funniest part is the text "Red links work" at the bottom of the page, just above a mess of blue links that work.

I'm guessing we can tell who the Apple fanboys are by their response? Or is it really just differences in sense of humor? Show of hands, how many have at least 3 Apple products? Five? Ten!!!?!!?!
I really liked the Monbiot. Got one on my desktop now.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying the first quote in my comment was an example of Apple fanboyism, it just reminded me of similar criticisms made regarding another genre of spoof site FPPs.

Apple is not only ridiculous, but it is unable to withstand even the softest scrutiny. Further, it recoils at the very hint of scrutiny, and its followers cry bigotry while denying employees civil rights, cry discrimination yet refuse to allow Sprint on an iPhone, preach peace while cheerleading endless games of World of Warcraft.
Apple has been a blight on humankind for 20 years. Its time is up.

Didn't we just have a big fucking Metatalk thread about not linking to stuff that makes fun of peoples' religions? What do the mods have to do to stop this shitting on institutions that some people have blind reverence for?

This is ok, but I prefer posts that link to blogs where hipsters inexplicably work pictures of their Macbooks into every other post.

I had an apple, but I wasn't that keen. It was the red casing that I didn't like, I should have selected the green ones. iPippin, I think they are.

This site is a whole lotta meh to this apple fanboy. Comedy is subjective, but even within that subjectivity you have to be, you know, actually funny.
Unlike this.

MythMaker hurt my feelings. I too am a fanboy, but I thought it was funny.
I like the whole concept though of brand spoofing, and the "Internet in Book Form." I found a lot worth looking at, but I'm not going to defend it. It tickled me. That's enough.

I thought this idea was neatly executed, and contained enough funny bits to justify the time I spent on it. Thumbs up from me.

Not bad, in that "funny is in the details" way, but mainly they just took the easy shots.
I'd happily pay $29 for a Mysterion, too. I've always wanted sexy-looking project boxes for home-made stuff, and that expensive Apple look is very hard to fake.

And if this was featured in an amalgamation of a shoot-em-up video game and an incongruous 80s song, we'd have a schmapple shmup mashup.
