LEAVE GARY SPIVEY'S HAIR ALOOOONEEE! He's the inspiration to my dream that a real live person who wants a collection of wigs like some kind of human Afro Ken is possible!
I also feel like anything from the 80s should be automatically exempt from things like this. It's just too easy.

A hairstyle that should be on there but isn't (at least not yet) is one I used to see in the early nineties but can't find a picture of now. It appeared on young guys. The sides were almost shaved, and the top was brushed straight back and gathered into a flat, short ponytail. Also, I never could stand the rat tail.

I used to work with a guy who had the not-fooling-anyone-but-himself comb-over thing going on. Apparently he used some sort of stiffening spray or gel to keep the strands in place. Occasionally he'd be heading out through the company parking lot on a breezy day, and the wind would gently lift and drop the whole rigid latticework from where it hinged along the "part" on one side of his head. Made him look like an aroused cockatoo. If only I'd had a video camera back then....

Telltale Games has a series called Sam and Max. (That I just adore, but that's beside the point.) The point is, that in the series, there's a rather mad psychic running amuck...and he has Spivey's hair. So, the whole two years or whatever that I was playing these serial episodes, I didn't realize it was patterned after a real loony.
That just makes the games *so* much better.

Not on that site, but here is perhaps my favorite hairdo: Super Mohawk Hair.
Bear hair is from hair hats by Nagi Noda - highly creative art director - there are many more great animal hairdos on her site. Sadly, we had an obit thread on Nagi Noda last September.
Fun collection of images, but it sucks when these collection sites don't link the source.
