I pass a house like this every week not half a mile (as the crow flies) from my house. Corrugated sheet metal patches, tree growing through the roof, etc. Except someone seems to live there, or at least run a perpetual yard sale there. The neighbors are well-to-do and have reasonably-manicured lawns, unlike the trees, dirt and undergrowth of this house. I always wonder what they think.

It would have been wonderful to have the stories behind the homes, as to why they've fallen into disrepair and neglect. A 150 year old farm house in my family is in such a state as these (worse than most), and it's the result of a daughter-in-law convincing an addled, dying man into changing his will, then dying herself from a curse by that man, and her children not giving a hoot later on about the state of the place.
I'd like to think those houses have similar stories, not that someone simply walked away.

The Beatles did a bunch of Christmas recordings. One of these has them wishing us a "Happy Happy Christmas" while George wishes us a "Hari Hari Krishna".
I've always liked that particular phonemic cluster as a basis for puns, but then I'm a hick who hacks at hokey jokes for yokels.
