Somewhere, the sun is just coming up. A westward flowing chain of webcams broadcasting that moment when the sun first comes up.
Disappointing… the current picture (Brazil) is 216x162 and pixelated to hell.
Ooh! On refreshing, I take it back, KANGERLUSSUAQ, GREENLAND19:34 looks fabulous, pixelation aside. Fabulous.

Weeeh! I'm in the Falklands now. I love it! Great virtual screen saver. I realise now that the picture depends on the cam.
Why does it think I'm in Perth though (19:42 PERTH, 08 AUSTRALIA), the time is right but the location is way off. Maybe my ISP has something to do with this?

It thinks I'm in Adelaide, which is indeed where my ISP is based, so it's probably using whois.

Awesome! Current picture is crap, but I will return to this. And what great timing too. I saw a beautiful sunrise today in Berlin and thought to myself that I don't see them often enough.

This is so great! But what will it do when it reaches the Pacific, I wonder? Oil rigs? Friendly whales?

I rarely see the sun rise, but when I do it never ceases to amaze me. A crisp morning sunrise is one of those things of beauty that, at that moment, makes me want to be someone great, a model human being. Then I usually get drunk that night and don't really give a rat's ass about anything except advil and gatorade when I wake up the following afternoon.

Chicago. Sunrise is only 2000 miles away now. Maybe time to go to bed.

Oh my God. I had this idea about a year and a half ago—only for sunsets, not sunrises. Can someone implement a sunset one bunnyquick?

I can't watch this without softly singing Here Comes The Sun.
It's all right.

Actually, Archibald MacLeish was there with the sunsets first.

Living in Salt Lake City and driving towards large mountains in the east, I see the sunrise about 6 times every morning during the fall and spring. I wait in traffic, watch the sun rise over the top of the mountain, and drive back into the shadow of the mountain. Lather, rinse, and repeat. Makes for a fun commute when I forget my sunglasses at home.

Oh dear! The dust is back. This is the scene from my balcony this morning. It's so dim, I can look directly at the sun as it rises.

The sun will come up this moment
Bet your bottom dollar
That this moment there'll be a sunrise
Jus' thinkin' about this moment
Open your browser and view a webcam
There'll be sun
When I'm stuck with the day that's gray and boring
I just click my mouse and grin and say, oooh!
The sun will come up this moment
So you gotta hang your browser on
