This is great stuff. That says more about me than I would ordinarily care to admit, but I'll say it again. This is great stuff. Thanks, C-SPAN!

I'm lovin' the old campaign advertisements from before I was born and when I was a little kid but I wish the audio wasn't screwed up on so much of the old stuff.
Jimmy Carter 1976: Inflation rate? Bah, that's just something written on a piece of paper!
The "Daisy" nuclear war ad, held as the beginning of modern negative campaign ads

the add before the Daisy one (public works in any state but mine = creeping socialism ) is eerily apropos today.

billion bytes! halfway around the world in... one minute! (30:47)
"the most sordid pornography that your mind can ever comprehend"
Now for the recordings from Committee Hearings....

Nothing against either Jimmy Carter or XMLicious, but this comment needs to be deleted right goddamned now. This is far too deadly a campaign tactic to be released to the public.
"Senator, how can you justify trying to pass a bill that legalizes murder of anyone born on a Tuesday?"
"Well heck, Tuesday's just a word written on a piece of paper."

@morganw: Valenti pulls off the incredible, unbelievable feat of making the RIAA's Bainwol seem almost sane - maybe it was an agreement between the two, playing good-cop batshitcrazy-cop on the the Senate.
