Another stupid parent story, without which your day just wouldn't be complete. Mother and Stepfather, who lobbied for a stricter definition of 'rape' in Ohio, are charged with raping their daughter (via artificial insemination). I hate people.

If there is any case for capital punishment for rape, I think we've found it. Can anyone think of a reason why we shouldn't axe these two right out?

That is really a disgusting story. To think that those 2 supposed parents wanted to raise anther child.
I am confused with the $500 bail though. Is the court not taking it seriously?

I would start with immediate sterilization for these 2 sick bastards. And maybe confiscate any belongings, convert them to capital and award it to the daughter.

Really a disgusting article that makes me angry.

I've found that some links that turn up here literally make my jaw drop in shock. This was one of those. Still, I notice:

but she's charged with complicity to the crime rather than the crime itself. Which seems a bit odd to me, but then I must be missing something.

As shocking and disgusting and horrifying and terrifying as the details are, there's one thing that keeps coming back to me: they knew enough not to do it the old-fashioned way. Is this because they knew it would be statutory rape, or because it was icky, or because the mom would have been jealous, or because they felt some sort of perverted compassion for the girl?

It's too much to try to understand.

See, this is why we at MeFi should start a fund. We'll call it Sending Ezrael out to beat evil fuckwads near to death and how it works is, we'll all kick five bucks into the kitty once a month. At the end of the month, we'll have one of those spinning drums, and we'll select one lucky fuckwad for me to go visit, spending as much money from the fund as I need to get to their house or residence, beat them within an inch of their lives, grab a sandwich and head on out.

Anybody behind this idea?

I've got one important quiestion though: would you grab the sandwich from the house, or would you buy it with money from the fund? Would you really want to eat something out of a refrigerator owned by someone who would do this to a child? I wouldn't.

On a more serious note, can you imagine being in DCF or a judge having this case come up? Or being the fiance the article mentions, and having your wife to be telling you about all this? Or being the girl herself, as her supposed parents beat the drum to protect her in public from what they were doing to her in private?

A family member recently married someone who was abused as a child ... it came out during an argument. It's truly terrifying if you think about it -- all those kids out there who have no idea that they are suffering, they just think they're "normal."

Nothing like a couple of complete wastes of human flesh to bring everyone together. Oh, and I'll be buying my sandwich afterwards, on the fund. I don't like mayo anyway, but by God even if I did I wouldn't eat anything these people would have in their house.

I mean, on a serious note, what kind of dementia makes you decide to do all this to your own kid? I know logically that I can't walk the earth beating up everyone who does this kind of thing...but how does anyone wake up one day and decide Hey, so I can't have a child...but I can inject my daughter with my husband's sperm against her will without stopping to realize how completely bugfuck it is?
