"Children in homosexual relationships are subject to emotional abuse. Legitimising gay marriage is like legalising child abuse," --wendy4sentate's twitter
Wendy Francis, a candidate from Australia's Family First party has gobsmacked the Australian gay rights lobby by equating legalising gay marriage with legalising child abuse on Twitter and then posting a statement on her website calling for government to "end the gay marriage debate and protect children from abuse".
Both the tweet and her longer statement were removed after being bombarded with thousands of replies and Francis is yet to make a statement to any Australian media.

If it wasn't for legitimising being spelled with w/o the z, I'd think Wendy was running for office in the US.

Children shouldn't be in homosexual relationships! They should wait until they are 13 or 14 like the straight kids do.

It's no blog post about a font someone found on a movie poster, or thinly-disguised advertising, but I suppose it'll do for weekend MetaFilter- let's get this baby to 150 comments.
