She didn't feel the same way, and that was that. Crush.nu has formally ceased publishing stories. Jack mentions the possibility of a book (for which you are able to send submissions right now), but the project as it was on the web is no more than its archives. I know it hasn't been updated in quite a while, but I'm going to miss it terribly all the same. What will you miss most about it?
This is really disappointing. Crush was one of my favourite sites, in terms of late-night melancholia, and even up to this week, I was checking it regularly, praying for an update.
First Bittersweets and now this. Where am I going to go for my sadness hit?

if you haven't explored ember, marquis, you might want to try. ember suffered a similar fate (it's been closed for a while), but if you haven't been there, at least you can read some new content. some of the stories are really, really nice.

Crap. Now if I point people to my piece (02.12.01 just like old times) it's a link to a defunct dot nu.
Well, not as bad as a dead dot com, but still.

Thanks Moz - and I had indeed seen Ember. A couple of months ago, inspired by the unchanging Crush.nu, I went on a rabid hunt for similar sites. Ember and Bittersweets were the only two real alternatives I found, and both are defunct. What's nice about Bittersweets, of course, is that you can dump the archive into your Palm and get depressed on the bus!
Does anyone know of similar sites that aren't dead?
