Bohabb likes to put films to music. Some favs include Search and Destroy vs Apocalypse Now & Full Metal Jacket, Tron vs Aphex Twin, Coldcut vs Apocalypto, M.S.I vs Akira, Robocop vs Alec Empire and Shizuo vs bad girls of cinema.
Robocop was just what I needed.

This sort of work is common amongst fans of anime, and the result are AMVs, or anime music videos. It seems clear enough, but there's a large (Western) culture around AMVs, including contest at anime conventions. Some AMV creators have gained enough notoriety as to be hired to make trailers and promo reels for US distributors.

The difference is 99.9% of AMVs are shit (as are 99.9% of mashups), these are good.

Tron vs. Aphex Twin (Powerpill) made me feel old on two different dimensions.

Yes, many AMVs are ham-fisted attempts at blending some pop song with some clips of a show someone likes, or even multiple shows, making the end result even more confusing. These, really good. Stutter edits to Alec Empire? Perfect.

Different artist, slightly different tone and intent, and it's actually been linked here before. But I've been watching this (call it "Once Upon a Time in the West vs. Arcade Fire" in the lingo of the post) about once every two days for a month.

When Buddy Rich showed up for a split second in the Sabotage/Dirty Harry clip, I couldn't stop laughing.
