Liar, Liar

Liar, Liar
If you can explane away the DUI (DWI, OUI) arrest, then you will have a hard time coming to terms with the fact that Bush used his family's power and influence to first restore his Maine license on 7/25/78, in the middle of his Congressional campaign. Then, 15 years later had his Maine driving record updated with "violation free credits" on 12/31/93 at right around the time Bush was gearing up to run for Governor of Texas. Read more here.

The results are in.

The results are in. Blood and gore killed the video star. Laughable, eh? That $40K and a bundle of sticks could out-perform $10M and Hollywood's bottomless ketchup bottle?

The New York City Marathon

The New York City Marathon is this Sunday. Last year I ran the distance in this race, organized by the New York Road Runner's Club. The Association of International Marathons and Road Races' website has plenty of information about marathons around the world. Maybe you can find one in your neck of the woods.

True or not?!

True or not?! One of the weirdest things I've ever seen on the web. I was sure this was a hoax and kept digging for confirmation and never found it.

The House: Encumbered by Incumbents

The House: Encumbered by Incumbents While the big prize is still up for grabs, plenty of pols will stroll into another four years of fun in DC. With a 97% rate of incumbent re-election, in spite of Michael Moore's best efforts, is it time to separate the presidential and congressional polls, so that there's a decent debate over the direction of the legislative branch?

Amazon as used book store?

Amazon as used book store? When did this happen -- you can sell your books (or other items), through amazon. Has anyone tried this? Where do the things show up?

Most of the map is red

Most of the map is red but the candidates are still neck-and-neck. Bush has the lead in a whole lot of huge states with small populations. But Gore has CA, NY, NJ and IL. Thus it is with the electoral college.

If they were electing by square mile, Bush would have it sewn up.

Three Strikes - You're out Mr. Bush

Three Strikes - You're out Mr. Bush OK, so we know about the DWI arrest but did you know about the hotel theft arrest or the disorderly conduct arrest? Michael Moore does and he is asking tough questions.

Synthetic Jailbait. That's what you get when you demonize attraction to sexy little 16 and 17 year old Britney wannabees. [parental advisory: explicit lyrics] [from Flutterby, which walks this beat more often than me.]

"Search. It's all we do. Test our results." So, is that braggadocio... or insecurity? Given the spate of "how [they] scammed Google" pieces lately, I find the newest addition to their home page... interesting.

While discussing this holiday gift option, my coworker pronounced "If I ever see a woman in a 15 million dollar bra, my crotch had better explode." Which may be worth the purchase price itself.

Notes from the Canadian federal election: Some people don't like the leader of the Canadian Alliance, Stockwell Day, but other people really don't like him. And he doesn't like them too much.
