The hope of democracy is that we will, knowing all this, find a way to trust each other again, or at least, in the absence of trust, to halfheartedly will each other’s good. Perhaps we will stumble one day on some key, some insight, that will help us to do this again. Octopuses Can Rewire Their 'Brains' by Editing Their Own RNA on The Fly. "Temperature-sensitive editing occurred at about one third of our sites – over 20,000 individual places... [P]roteins that are edited tend to be neural proteins, and almost all sites that are temperature sensitive are more highly edited in the cold." Study.
