Big Wigs at Napster Resign And here I thought they were dead long ago.
I don't understand the ongoing hostility people seem to have towards Napster. Why hate them? They started a movement that we take for granted sometimes. You can't deny their importance. So they got bogged down in lawsuits and never got back on stable footing...what's so hateworthy about that?

Because they caved under pressure, lost their vision, and became the bitch of the very establishment they were fighting? Just sayin', ya know ...

Succa, I actually agree with you. I just think a lot of people see Napster today as the reamed out whore left over after they snivelled their way into "legitimacy". They were, as a company, a lot easier to like when they were on the rebelious cutting edge of file sharing. If they'd have kept up the fight and gone down in a swift blow from Darth RIAA, I believe that the company would be better respected. They didn't. They played half assed compliance games, and tried to mainstream what their masters don't want mainstreamed. It's sad, really.

Maybe their hostile because they got all pissy when we wouldn't help them serve alcohol to 15 year olds at a party they had at our facility. Maybe that's what lead to giving Sean Parker a black eye.
Or maybe that's just me.

actually i love Napster, still do. Shawn Fanning accomplished more before he was 20 than i've ever accomplished and im 108 years old.
all the new music, bootlegs, oddities i "traded," how could i ever thank him enough?
i just thought that his company had been buried by the RIAA long ago.
i guess i wasnt paying attention since ive been using AudioGalaxy.
