Do they make toys *for* horses and so on? I've seen several videos of horses, cows, etc. playing with balls and stuff, but they always seem so flimsy and get broken within minutes.

Reminds me of the balloon Piglet gives to his own favourite donkey in AA Milne's Eeyore has a Birthday.

Well that was adorable and put a smile on my SO's face. I think it may lead to a visit to our local donkey sanctuary in our near future.

I wish any one of my cats loved any one of their toys half as much as that donkey loves that ball.

I was shocked to see the donk go up on two legs and stay there - I didn't know they did/could do that!

I don't think I've ever been that happy about a new toy, and I'm even including the b-wing fighter with rotating cockpit and real blaster noises.

The noises! Such joy!

I like donkeys.

I think it may lead to a visit to our local donkey sanctuary in our near future.

After finishing a tour of the petroglyphs at China Lake, a group of us went over to the local outpost of the BLM's Wild Horse and Burro program (where, incidentally, you can adopt a burro). They happily chewed through our gigantic bags of carrots in less than an hour and a good time was had by all. I highly recommend.

oh my god

good donkey. Look at all the balls previously crushed!

I’m sort of a cute animal video scoffer.* I am very happy to have seen this.

*it occurs to me I have been cute animal video watching more lately since we no longer have pets.

Did we bury the lede a wee bit? This is a donkey that can walk on two legs...

Not to be that guy, but equids are social animals and shouldn't be kept alone. I suspect this donkey is at least partially this excited because it's lonely.

This is adorable but also makes me a little sad, because I wonder if the donkey is lonely/bored. Do donkeys usually act that way?

Probably this is my hormones saying dumb things in my brain.

A vet friend of mine who works with large animals says that, while cute, this is not particularly unusual behavior for an ecstatic donks, so enjoy the vid guilt free!

Although she was impressed by the upright, hind leg walking.

Being so close to the wire fence while rearing made me a bit nervous.

Are you asking if they make... donkey kongs

"Yeah! New ball! New ball! NEW. BALL! Gonna do a victory lap right here and then crush it down and then another victory lap and then crush it with my brute donkey face force because I am a superhero! Okay, now see, this is my OLD ball. It's pink, not blue, here I'll stand up so you can see it easier...See it? Yeah, it's pink. Oh, here's a pile of my really old balls, but I like this NEW BALL so MUCH ermagerd...."

Jolly balls are great for all ball-loving species. My dog has this exact same one and loves it an equal amount. She tries to take it to bed with her, despite it not fitting through the dog door.

(Like Dumbo with his feather, this donkey believes the rubber ball is what allows the self-fulfilled magic of walking upright on hind legs.)

It's a love as pure and old as time.
It’s clear that a frustrated writer of power ballads has wound up writing copy for Digg.

Or has been listening to too many Disney musicals.

A+ for the donkey with ball, got such joy from its joy.
