Each player also gets a small white dog with definite opinions to accompany them on the pitch. Plus the team gets to hire a sea captain to swear at the refs.

There seems to be a link missing from the OP, so just for ease of other readers, I think this is it: Ranking all 24 Euro 2024 home kits: A familiar winning combination and one absolute disgrace [Football365]

I really like this. I loved Tintin as a kid but also there's, you know, the massive amount of racism so I am ambivalent about sharing that love with people which is why I have a tattoo of the symbol from Cigars of the Pharaoh but it's tiny and in white ink. When I was a kid I really wanted that tattoo and now I'm a grown up and I have it.

There’s certainly irony in a child of the former colonies idolizing a character who might be dismissed by casual critics as a proxy for the white-man’s burden (and by more serious ones as a racist). But I couldn’t entirely disavow the series. What those comics taught me was that heroes, even boyish, never-aging ones like Tintin, are deeply flawed, and if you ruminate on something long enough, even a cherished childhood memory, you will inevitably see those flaws clearly. There were things that I loved about Tintin that made it easier to reject those things I did not—without ignoring them altogether.

I have a sneaking feeling Belgium will win the Euros this year, which is odd for me because I usually have no feeling, sneaking or otherwise, for an eventual winner of an international tournament. They’re not as absurdly blessed with talent as they were in the last decade, but the team seems settled and everyone’s got a clear role.
And I hope that if they do, they’ll end up contesting the final in that ludicrously fantastic Tintin get-up.
