Grass underfoot, Leipäjuusto in the mouth, stroking a cat, nettle stings on the body, fingers in clay and chocolate, and cold water and steam on bare skin ... after recent topics of smells and sounds and tastes, what are the textures, things you feel, which linger in your memories ... The texture of M&S dark chocolate Jaffa cakes easily beats that of McVitie's Jaffa cakes. The taste is secondary and, to be frank, I don't notice it - just the smoothness of the top layer of chocolate before you bite into it.
So I can't go back to the more popular and well-known McVitie's variation. Though, with the spiralling price of the M&S ones, it's more of a treat than a regular snacklet (which is probably a good thing).

Leipäjuusto mentioned in a fpp! Whoah, how trippy! Leipäjuusto (literally breadcheese) is very squeaky. Fun fact: in some parts of Finland it is called juustoleipä (cheesebread). Very much a "my grandma used to make this" sort of delicacy with coffee.

Taking a shower... just because.
Well, also because summer has been sliding back and forth into the triple digits and it's muggy as Hades's armpits.
The sunrise the other day was a shimmering orange ball in a dull gray sky, probably because of this year's huge forest fires on the west coast.
But clean hair and skin is a wonderful feeling at any occasion.
May all your soap bubbles be airy and bright!

Can't really think of a compelling texture right now. Maybe our cat's ears.
Life just got...different, last week. We just discovered that the quiet tree-lined park path behind our house is going to become a fenced-off construction access road. They say it's temporary, if you consider the planned 3+ years of 8am to 4pm, 5 day a week dumptruck traffic to be "temporary".
It's completely stupid, and there are better on-street route options that were overlooked. The street is starting to organize to oppose the move. Still, I'm gutted right now. Never expected that our quiet oasis, that we've owned for 35 years, and have enjoyed so much since we've retired, could be taken away like that. Never expected a new career as a NIMBY. A literal NIMBY.

So, how about a small ghost offering up a tiny flower, because sometimes a small ghost offering up a tiny flower is what is needed.
