I think someone already said these are extraordinary, but that's absolutely the right sentiment. Thank you so much for finding these!

I couldn't tell, are these photos then or realistic paintings? Love the peacock spiders.

Peacock Spiders dance to "Saturday Night Fever" The dance is so the females recognize them as mates and not menu items.

The article said they were composites of large numbers of photographs.

Oh, hi!

(Often good modern bug photography "stacks" many images at different focal depths. This allows the whole critter to appear in focus in a still image, more like a larger creature would look to the naked eye)

Spiders are awesome. They're so cool looking, and really very different from us. 8 legs, 8 eyes, the incredible webs they build... I still kill some from time to time, because it's just not great to have some of them in the house and it's not always possible to catch and release, but nonetheless, I just love them.

"What cute spiders" is a combination of words I never imagined I would ever write. But frankly, what cute spiders! I'm afraid I am not keen on the big house spiders, although large spiders outside are fine. But these little itsy bitsy chappies look like fun.
