I usually hate that scrolling text over photos thing, but it was used well and made sense. I wonder if “periodic rivers” are going to become more common with climate change and water use.

I think you have to live in an arid or semi-arid climate to really understand what it means when the water comes. The Great Basin Desert is probably somewhat like the Greenough area. We've got 75-80% rain predicted for next Wed-Thurs, and I am so hoping it pans out. It's so dry and dusty this time of year. We need a lot of water to start our intermittent streams flowing, but it will be nice to have things fresh again.

This was an interesting article, and the images were quite nice. You can tell by the expressions on people's faces what it means to them when the land greens up again.
