Slightly off topic, but I was surprised to see The Yips, only because I had thought the phrase was uniquely American. Wrong again. Turns out that the alleged origins are a bit murkier, that it is credited to golfing Scotsman Tommy Armour (1896-1968) who transplanted to America in the 1920s. (Also notable - he lost the sight of one eye in the war. I guess binocular vision is less vital to a golfer than to, say, a tennis player. Couldn't say. Not a sportsman, myself.)

Where would we be without the internet?

If the reader does not laugh out loud while reading on a subway, is the book funny, or no more than droll? YMMV of course, but it's a bar that a lot of comic lit does not clear. Guilty until proven innocent, I say. (Again, YMMV.)

The only one I've read is Skippy Dies, and I concur that it is indeed one of the funny ones.
