What was that artist who made a living out of drawing close-ups of flowers? They were all supposed to be highly suggestive of female anatomy, or something. This seems like the guy just wanted to live out a fantasy he created from those images.

I had the idea while standing over a urinal many times a day and letting the shape inspire me. I saw a shoe, a mouth, a shovel, a cup, etc...
a mouth? I want to see the sketches for that one.

I would definitely purchase a triffid urinal. But I worry that since salt water is the nemesis of the Triffid (at least in the horrible 60's movie version), pee receptacle is not the best position for a triffid to hold.

He should apply to the Kohler artist residency...(assuming he hasn't already been there) I know people who have been there and loved it.
a residency program at Kohler Co., the nation's leading manufacturer of plumbingware. Artists have the opportunity to spend two to six months creating works of art utilizing the industrial materials and equipment.
Artists-in-residence are provided with studio space in the factory which is accessible to them 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, they receive free materials, use of equipment, technical assistance, photographic services, housing, round-trip transportation within the continental United States from their homes to the site, and weekly honoraria.

There's something wrong with pissing into a lilly. How about a urinal that looks like Paris Hilton's face? Pull her hair and it flushes.

What I want to know, is who is going to CLEAN these things. Those throw away toilet brushes are no match for the many crevices and curves in these lovely works of ... er... art.

The gorgeous, crazy Kawakawa public "loos", by artist & architect Frederick Hundertwasser. And more here.
The local council has a terrible time - the toilets aren't designed for the volume of traffic they get and aren't easily cleaned.
