Best Site Mike's Never Seen

Mike Davidson is giving away an iPod to the respondent that posts the best site that he's never seen. Excellent stuff to be found in the responses so far, with New York Conversations (previously mentioned here in the blue) the one that I'm currently checking out. Legal Notice: I'm not Mike Davidson and have never met nor communicated with him. I'm also not employed by Apple, but I do love their products.

There are enough good links there to keep the pickiest of surfers busy for a couple of hours. And it's great that descriptions of the sites are limited to one sentence or the submitter is disqualified.

Woah, sorry. Previewing! The reason these sites exist is because few have found that ONE site.
Dangling a carrot in fromt of others so they can do the work for you seems a tad disingenuous, to say the least.

As a one shot deal, it seems to be working out for him given some of the links that he's collected there. Not only humorous and entertaining but also some really nice design work to be found there. I think that's because it's a one shot deal (one contest, one entry per person, one line description), he's not having to deal with a bunch of crap links.

I've nothing against him doing it at all. The problem I see, as a punter visiting that page, is that I may have to wade through 4 truckloads of swill to find something I like. Which of course is my problem sooooooo....I probably won't be checking them. Too much work. But if you go through them all and pick out the best one, post it to MeFi tomorrow, ok? (unless of course the best there isn't the best of the web)

Yeah, Eideteker. That guy has some nerve giving stuff away. I mean, just think, he could have sold that iPod and fed twelve starving orphans for 23.7 days.

Man, we're never going to solve the worlds problems if people keep giving stuff away -- that's it kiddies, no more Christmas for you guys -- it's all Greenpeace thank you notes from here on.

I love how many people are nominating totally obvious or old-as-dirt websites for a "sites I've never seen" contest. Homestarrunner? Zombo.com (twice)? Wikipedia??

This list is also the best justification of MetaFilter's no-self-link rule I've ever seen.

Well, it certainly makes Mefi, BoingBoing and Blort look good, in that I have seen most of the sites linked to before on one of those link-tastic sites. So, Mike better not be a reader too or else the competition will actually be quite difficult.

I just crapped my pants looking at the jowlers.com site!! also motherofalldeals.com was a fave of mine that went down but apparently, it's back up again..
