Did she ever think the future would be this bad? "No, I thought we would have a wonderful future. We'd built a welfare state and it worked. We had a health service. We built schools..."
And I thank you and your generation, Rose. My life would have been immeasurably poorer without yours and those of women and men like you; honest, decent and engaged.

She appealed to the young by signing off as Hax0r.

She will be missed.

"When my father died, however, he held out his arms from the bed and cried 'Rosie darling.' That was the only time he ever hugged me, and I remember thinking: 'I've been wanting this all my life.' "

I love this woman.

"Obesity is disgusting. All you do is eat less."

I hate this woman.

"The most evil thing we have to fight is fundamentalism and nationalism combined. We have religious schools, which I think is monstrous. As long as we have them we'll never have peace."

I love this woman. I love this woman, and I just found out she existed, only to learn she is dead. I'm now reminded of how I felt the day I learned a) Peter Tosh was one hell of a reggae music artist and b) Peter Tosh was dead. Damn.
