Can the first comment mention that this is a terrible misuse of a virgule?

Ah, I've said it before - but you'll never beat Toy Story 2: Requiem.

How long have you been waiting to use that synonym for the separatrix/oblique dash/whack/solidus/scratch comma?

Have to use the term all the time, actually. Had I known "separatrix," would have gone with that for the cooleth it has. Will try it at work next chance I get.

But I kind of feel bad, now. Someone come along with a happy mashup for us and I'm all super pedant ass - even though I may be the worst speller in three states.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed this.

Why?
Slash (punctuation): The most common use is to replace the hyphen or en dash to make clear a strong joint between words or phrases, such as "the Hemingway/Faulkner generation".

The problem with mash-ups such as this is that it lacks a real narrative. Simply matching up scenes with sounds is rather tepid.

True creativity involves actual manipulation. Such as the infamous, recut Shining Trailer. Or (self-link) a recut trailer of The Wizard, starring the lovable Fred Savage.

I enjoyed it, but to be honest I'd probably enjoy anything with the Dark Knight trailer voiceover/sound.

I viewed this page without logging in for the first time in quite a while, and the ad at the bottom of the page featured the Joker from The Dark Knight. It was a sweet synchronicity. I'll never look at Woody the same way.

That worked a little too well for my comfort.

That was kinda cute, but there were more than a few scenes from the first Toy Story. I'm pretty sure that Sid was only in the first one, right?

It did put a smile on my face. Well done.

Meh...it was ok.
The Requiem for a dream one from a few years ago is much better.

The problem with mash-ups such as this is that it lacks a real narrative. Simply matching up scenes with sounds is rather tepid.

The creator used the untouched audio from the official Dark Knight trailer and managed to synch up pretty much all audio and sound effects perfectly. S/he also kept the characters consistent (I've seen many mashups where the person synchs a bunch but uses multiple characters for one voice.) I think that takes talent and imagination. S/he wasn't attempting to reimagine the plot so judging by that metric seems downright silly. For what the creator actually did, I think it's the best mashup I've seen.

True creativity involves actual manipulation. Such as the infamous, recut Shining Trailer.

Again, not the same thing. I agree that Shining is a terrific piece of work but in actuality, the creator had less strictures on him/her than the one in the FPP did. In fact, if I remember correctly, s/he didn't even restrict themselves to The Shining but used some stuff from About Schmidt or some other Nicholson movie.

Or (self-link) a recut trailer of The Wizard, starring the lovable Fred Savage.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. All you did was take footage from a coming of age story and re-arrange it to suggest impropriety. I'd argue that an adult could do that with just about any coming of age film ever made without much difficulty.

You know, Heath Ledger gave a really great performance as Joker. 'tis a shame. :p

That was really funny, I have to admit. Most mashups don't get the lip-syncing, but this guy worked at it.
