"Scenes from a Multiverse"* is a brand new webcomic from Jon Rosenberg, the Lonely Goatherd, developed when he recently realized that when his absurd magnum-opus reaches its pre-destined conclusion (on the Mayan-designated Dec. 21, 2012), the impressive bound volumes of the story were not going to pay for his kid's college education. So here are daily visits to random levels of existence (if you assume all those levels of existence contain strange beings a lot like people you find annoying) without the bothersome story arc. PLUS the opportunity to vote for the alternate universe you'd like to revisit! (bonus previ-eewww content)

* not to be confused with "Scenes from a Memory, Mall, Marriage, Italian Restaurant or Hat" (as I tweeted to JR) but which, interestingly, all exist within an average Multiverse.

This is something comics, and almost only comics, can do really well.

And something that not everybody who makes comics can do really well...

And not everything that a comic, even when done by someone that makes good comics, can, all the time, do really well

It's a hard thing to do well, we get it, sheesh.

I've read Goats nearly since its inception, and it was a sad day when Jon realized it wouldn't pay the bills. He has promised that he'll attempt to wrap the story up as best he can.

I'm looking forward to the new series. It will be nice to get a daily dose of multiversal oddities without trying to remember where all the characters are at any particular point in time.

Here I'd thought SFAM stood for 'Scenes from a Metafilter'.

no, not really
