Injecting Oscillators Into The CPU of A Gameboy [YouTube] “YouTuber LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER - who does loads of really interesting and experimental things with old tech - decided to put some of faulty Game Boy consoles through the grinder to see what he could come up with. He soldered a wire from an oscillator to the timing crystal of the Game Boy itself, allowing him to override the timing and use the oscillator to muck about with the Game Boy's CPU speed.” [via: Nintendo Life] [Previously.]
I could watch him explain pretty much any topic and be entranced.

I'm interested in the hack, but the presentation drives me nuts.

I like this. Sounds like Skrillex torturing R2D2. I wish I had his setup, all that gear must be worth a fortune.

Fizz, this clever guy turned his GBA into a Pi powered emulator (imgur).
Also, issue 55 of MagPi magazine has instructions on how to make a gameboy out of a Pi.

I stg he was greenscreened, and all that gear behind him was just a pic.

Circuit bending is probably worthy of it's own FPP. Doesn't look like it's ever been done.

I've considered tearing it down in an attempt to turn it into a portable emulator but I'm also not very tech savy, so it's probably better to just leave it as a memorial to the early days of my gaming life. A brick that just sits on a shelf in my bedroom. I'll leave the hacks to people more knowledgeable than myself.
